Care Bear/Little Skipper

3/2/2010

Care Bear, or as his Foster Dad called him Little Skipper, was rescued from a high kill shelter where his owner took him because they said he was too old and discarded him like a piece of trash. He was underweight, his skin was dry and flakey, he was anemic and had a 3/5 heart murmur. His Foster Home took such good care of him, not knowing he would only live another two weeks. All they knew was they didn't want him to die in a cold, unfamilar place with no one to hold him. They took him in their home and spoiled him with chicken and noodles, scrambled eggs, raw milk, heated beds, walks in the yard and endless love. He was such a good boy and very gentle with the dogs in his foster home and he adored his foster parents. He took his last breaths in his Foster Dad's lap with his Foster Mom at his side. The Angels came and took him away ever so gently to the Rainbow Bridge where he is no longer sick. Thank you Tim and Susan for making Little Skipper's last days, loving days.

Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog. ~ Sydney Jeanne Seward ~
